The Institute of Physical Chemistry (IPC) is an internationally well-established center for the application of magnetic-resonance spectroscopic methods to paramagnetic states in biological systems and functional materials, the synthesis and characterization of the properties of concentrated colloidal dispersions, and theoretical chemistry. The current research projects focus on:

- Study of laser-induced processes in blue-and red-light-active proteins with time-resolved electron spin resonance and
   transient absorption spectroscopy

Characterization of protein structure elements with modern methods of pulsed electron spin resonance

- Generation and measurement of nuclear spin polarization by optical sample excitation

 -  Investigation of the properties of concentrated colloidal dispersions

- Film formation from aqueous colloidal dispersions

·         - Investigations of the electronic structure of biopolymers, conjugated macromolecules and molecular aggregates

·         - Modeling of electron transfer reactions and molecular conductivity
